So “An Affair to Remember” starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr was on cable almost immediately after I wrote that entry about “No Other Woman.” 

And it totally restored my faith in good ‘ol love and romance. Hahahaha. I really am a hopeless romantic. 

On a related note, I miss the days when romance was analog. No Facebook or Twitter or mobile phones. When somebody asked you to show up, you show up. These days, it’s so easy to come up with excuses (like totaling your imaginary BMW).

These days there’s minimal effort when it comes to romance. I miss the days of old school correspondence, of keeping appointments on time, of mixed tapes, of coming up with really creative ways to show somebody you loved him/her, of grand gestures.. 

I’m an old soul. I like the idea of grand gestures. If you want to win me over, write me a song instead of posting a link on my Facebook wall to a music video that somebody else put up on YouTube. Make me a mixed tape, not a friggin playlist of songs you expect me to download over uTorrent. If you’re afraid of flying, brave a ten-hour plane ride just to see me. Or just drive all the way to my house instead of coming up with this lame ass excuse about leaving your car at home because it was coding. And if you have something really important to tell me (good or bad), have the decency to tell it to my face instead of making me call you because you have no friggin cell phone load.

At the end of the day, it isn’t even about how grand the gesture is. I just want a man with BALLS, period. No little boys playing pretend, please. <3

I’ve seen A Cinderella Story for like 5 times, Another Cinderella Story for like 98659865498753 times(I can even memorize all the lines in the movie to prove that), The Lizzie McGuire Movie for like 10 times, and I’m definitely gonna watch Monte Carlo more than once. If I like it, that is. And I think I will.
